Our wedding day was one of the most special days of our lives, although if I’m being completely honest, it is all a bit of a blur! I have been part of so many weddings, but of course, this was my first time actually being the bride, and it was a totally different experience being the one actually getting married! It was so fun and so special, but it definitely felt like I was working an event half the time. It went by so incredibly fast! I’m so grateful for all these amazing photos from our photographer to help remember the day by because there sure are gaps in my memory from all the shuffling here and there!
Thought I’d share some of our getting ready photos in this little part one of our wedding day! It was so hard to cull down the images to share because there were some great ones!
The getting ready part of the day was actually one of my favorite parts! There was something so wonderful about getting to spend quality time with my family and my closest friends before the big event took place. Lots of laughs, lots of stories, lots of people helping me calm my nerves! I was definitely the nervous bride–I do NOT like being the center of attention, so the idea of everyone looking at me as I was walking down the aisle definitely made me a bit uncomfortable. But everyone was telling me that the second I locked eyes with Bobby I would forget about everyone else, and turns out they were right!
Invitations were the Downtown suite from Minted.
Something I really wanted was to wear a baby’s breath flower crown. I loooove flowers, and if my wedding had a theme, it would simply be a garden party. I wasn’t one of those girls who had dreamed up every little detail of her wedding as a little kid, but one thing I had known for years was that I wanted to wear a flower crown. And I chose the baby’s breath because it was one of my mom’s favorites, and felt like a special way to remember her. That and the fact that Bobby and I got married on my parents’ anniversary–May 31st.
It felt so surreal that this day we had been planning for months was finally here! I ended up choosing the very first dress that I tried on (although I tried on about eight of them) and I loved it! It was so funny asking Bobby what he thought my dress would look like–he was totally wrong!
Honestly, I had never felt so pretty in my entire life! And I had some amazing hair and makeup people to thank for that (vendor list at the bottom of this post).
Having my best girls there with me for the day made it all the more special! Honestly, I never in my life saw myself marrying some guy I met on the internet in Maryland of all places, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was so blessed to have my three best friends fly in from California to stand beside me and celebrate this joyous day.
One of my favorite moments was this first look with my dad. He has been my everything for my whole entire life, and is my hero in every single way. There really are no words to describe this moment (and so many others throughout the day!) but it was so special.
One of the hardest parts of the day was just the waiting to actually see Bobby! Something about actually not being able to see each other made us want to be together all the more. But just as I had fun with my friends and family before the ceremony, he did as well. He had a great group of his friends who stood by his side.
Again, the day really was just so incredibly special! It’s hard to sum it all up in words so hopefully the pictures will do the job for me! We’re just so grateful for everyone who helped make this one of the best days of our lives, and who came from near and far to celebrate it with us!
I’ll be sharing more pictures from our ceremony and reception soon, but thought this would be a fun place to start!
